WERE YOU AN “OVERNIGHT” SUCCESS AFTER 50?

Feb 1, 2012, 12:45 p.m.

Author Norm Bour is looking for those that have struggled for years, overcame adversity and finally after years of trying, became an “overnight” success. He is also looking for those whose ship has not quite come in yet and wants to know what keeps you going?

There are thousands of businesses and business owners that struggle for years, even decades, yet success still eludes them. What keeps them going? What motivates them? Is it too late?

Bour’s story started as a personal one. As a life-long unemployable entrepreneur he didn't have the vision, insight or imagination of many others, so he made his his way through 30 years of real estate, mortgages and financial services, always seeking passive income from more failed ventures than he can remember.

He had been "successful," but never hit the massive home runs. Twice in the past few years, it was almost there, but then the economic downturn spirited it away. Three years ago, his 30-year career become undesirable and unprofitable and he found himself having to reinvent himself from scratch.

“I persevered and never gave up,” he says. “Why? What keeps someone getting up and fighting after decades of trying? Those answers will be found in my book that will inspire and motivate others over 50 that have been laid off and are struggling. I am in phase three of my life – over 50 – and have been interviewing several phase ones-under 30- to get their stories. Some of these "kids" developed a multimillion dollar business in less than two years – and they weren’t internet or software gurus. One started an on-line cabinet company, another was a painting contractor – things that even someone over 50 could easily do. My message is that it is never too late, but that those over 50 cannot afford to take the slow track. I want to teach everyone the fast track.

Were you in the third phase of life when you became a success” Would you like to share your experience and insight with others? If so, contact Norm at Normb1@cox.net. Let’s see if your story can help change a life…and the world.
